THE BACK CORNER

Some places disappear from maps.

Some stories disappear with them.

But some stories wait for the right person to come along.

Kansas. August 22, 1978.

Running late for an important business meeting, a local man takes a familiar shortcut down an abandoned country road.

He expects an empty stretch of Kansas farmland.

Instead, he finds a crowd gathered beside a forgotten wheat field.

At the center of it stands an elderly man, desperately pointing toward the ruins of an old wooden building and insisting that something happened there long ago.

Something no one remembers.

Something no one knows.

The crowd watches. in amusement.

Some laugh. Others dismiss him as a confused old man.

Strangely, no one leaves and one person decides to listen.

What this old man shares will bring a forgotten night back to life.
